Sex and public health is an area where science, ethics, and politics collide and it is important for health professionals to learn to develop health recommendations and give well-rounded, accurate advice to their patients. Dr. McCurdy teaches the preventive medicine and epidemiology components of the UC Davis School of Medicine’s core pre-clinical curriculum. He is a past recipient of an Environmental/Occupational Medicine Academic Award from NIEHS and from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Association of American Medical Colleges for the establishment of a Regional Medicine-Public Health Education Center at UC Davis.
