Earlier this week at the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Stephen McCurdy spoke on “Sex and Public Health.” During his lecture he touched on the two very important topics of adolescent sex and abortion. He clearly articulated how, as medical professionals, we cannot ignore scientific research and choose to present only the politically correct options to our patients. (You can watch Dr. McCurdy’s lecture here.)
After this thought-provoking lecture, students were asked to fill out a survey about Dr. McCurdy’s presentation and their attitudes towards abortion.
One OSU med student wrote that she believes abortion should be legal at anytime during the pregnancy and she would refer her future patients for therapeutic abortions. However, she gave Dr. McCurdy high marks for his presentation and said, “You made some great points, definitely brought up things I never thought before.”
Another med student wrote, “Thank you for coming, I feel better equipped to layout the scientific case for life and abstinence.”
There are numerous other survey results that reflect the positive impact we are having on medical school campuses across the country. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for the 2013 Spring Med Tour.
