Students for Life of America (SFLA) is pleased to announce that James Christophersen has recently joined the SFLA team as the Director of the Med Student and Law Student for Life. In this role, Christophersen will coordinate with student groups across the United States to change the culture of the medical and legal academia through outreach to students, lectures by pro-life experts in each field of study, externships, and persona mentor relationships.
Christophersen’s passion for the mission of SFLA stems from his personal experience as a child born with Spina Bifida in the 1980’s when three out of every ten children prenatally diagnosed with Spina Bifida were aborted. Christophersen has devoted his life to inspiring future medical professionals to aggressively break through the frontier of existing medicine by discovering new cures with the goal of preserving lives of at-risk preborn children.
Previously, Christophersen served as Executive Director of the Judicial Action Group, a grassroots organization working to restore accountability to the Federal Judiciary by promoting the appointment and confirmation of judges dedicated to the rule of law over popular opinion. Christophersen graduated from LeTourneau University in Longview, TX, in 2010 where he was heavily involved in the student government, holding offices in several major campus organizations including terms as Student Body Vice President and Student Body President.
“Med Students for Life has experienced tremendous growth since launching in 2010, growing from 5 pro-life medical groups on campuses to over 45 today,” said Kristan Hawkins, President of SFLA. “Christophersen’s key experience in organizational development and leadership will take Med Students for Life and Law Students for Life to the next level, and beyond.”
