With the academic year once again in full swing, lectures, labs, clinicals, and stacks of reading filling your days and nights, we know how hard it can be to keep up with anything else! MedSFLA is here to help you “beat the busy” with simple ways to keep your pro-life medical student groups and colleagues active and engaged.
Post Or Distribute Pre-designed Topic Posters
MedSFLA has created a web page full of posters designed specifically for you to get the conversation going at your medical school. Each poster can even be customized to help promote your Med Students for Life group in the process. Topics include: Conscience rights, perinatal hospice and palliative care, fetal development, fetal pain, adoption, and IVF (more topics coming soon! Contact us to suggest topics which would be helpful on your campus). To ease additional independent research, each flyer includes a unique web address which hosts all the scientific, medical, and legal resources consulted in their creation. VISIT OUR ONLINE LIBRARY OF PEER-REVIEWED ARTICLES
MedSFLA hosts an extensive online library of peer-reviewed articles covering a broad range of medical subjects including: abortion, bioethics, conscience, maternal mortality, links to breast cancer, mental health, premature births, low birth weight, and much more! Click here to visit the library. When in need of a more “quick-reference” discussion of a topic, visit our “get educated” web page for essays and brief articles on subjects like: Healthcare for the Disadvantaged, Contraception and Plan B, Natural Family Planning, Perinatal Hospice, Abortion Techniques and Complications, Stem Cell Research, and Euthanasia.
Schedule a Pro-life Physician to Lecture on Your Campus
Whether local, or one of the expert speakers from MedSFLA’s National Tour, hosting a lecture at your medical school can be one of the best ways to respectfully and professionally confront academic bias against pro-life ideas. Simply hosting a lecture from a qualified pro-life physician, other medical professional, or bioethics expert provides an opportunity to academically discuss issues which most medical school curricula and professors refuse to address (or address in a biased manner). Bringing these experts to speak provides a credible foundation to initiate campus-wide conversations on abortion, contraception, end-of-life care, and other challenging questions. Need help getting started? Email James Christophersen (jchristophersen@studentsforlife.org) for help arranging a local speaker, or to have your school added as a stop on MedSFLA’s National Tour!
Already hosted a lecture, and want to take your group to the next level, or unsure if a lecture is right for your group?
