Stockbridge Students for Life, Stockbridge, MI
This past semester, students at Stockbridge High School came together to organize their Students for Life group. Since having their first meeting in April, Stockbridge SFL has had a huge impact on not only their school, but on the Stockbridge community, as well.
Even before the group was officially approved by their school administration, students created a group Facebook page and Twitter account, which quickly grew in popularity and effectiveness at the school. Their page gathered over a 100 likes in the first 4 days. The students clearly know how to use social media effectively!
At their second group meeting, Stockbridge Students for Life hosted SFLA’s Great Lakes Regional Coordinator, to give the students in-depth Pro-Life Apologetics and Dialogue Training (pictured above.) Students equipped themselves to be effective advocates for the pre-born and their mother’s by clarifying the issue and showing that all human beings are equally valuable.
Stockbridge Students for Life has shown adept recruitment skills, especially for such a young and new group. When Stockbridge High School hosted 7th and 8th Grade Coming-Up Day, students hosted a Students for Life booth at the event. Because Stockbridge SFL showed their presence on their campus, the soon-to-be high school students became engaged and many signed up to join the club that day!
One of the most encouraging aspects of this new Students for Life group is the impact they have had on their community. Having been written about in their school paper, and by creating pro-life t-shirts to sell as a fundraiser, the students have attracted the interest of many adults and families in the Stockbridge community. Their t-shirts are a huge hit!
To end the school year, Stockbridge Students for Life hosted a big Pizza Party to end the year with a bang. And, they plan to continue protesting and raising awareness by attending pro-life activism events.
Way to go Stockbridge Students for Life! Keep up the good work!
