This semester, Students for Life of America created new displays, one of which was designed to educate students about the facts of fetal pain. As a Regional Coordinator who works with over 120 Students for Life groups, I have never seen a display so useful for club recruitment than the Fetal Pain Display.
The content of the display focuses on educating students on campus that fetuses in the womb can feel the pain of being aborted no later than 20 weeks after fertilization. This is a great topic to be educating our peers about because we will almost never get hostile push-back. The display is also incredibly easy to run because it can simply stand on a table you would normally use for recruitment events – easy set-up and not many volunteers needed. But the 3 thing about it is the petition attached.
When we run this display, we focus on a petition students sign to show they support late-term abortion bans when fetuses can feel pain. This is a great outreach tool! It is so easy to ask students walking by, “Hey! Did you sign our petition?!” – because almost everyone stops to ask what the petition is about. And that is our opportunity to share about the topic and ask students to support it. Over 90% of students I have talked to sign the petition after hearing what it is about.
Not only is this good for the cause, it is great for student groups! By making it easy to talk to students you can find so many “secret pro-lifers” to recruit for your club. And you can generate about 70 student contacts per hour because so many want to support our petition. This is RECRUITMENT GOLD.
So what are you waiting for?! Contact your Regional Coordinator or email@example.com to schedule bringing the Fetal Pain Display and Petition to your school!
