Regarding the decision today by the Iowa Supreme Court to allow telemedicine abortions, Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, the nation’s largest pro-life youth organization, released the following statement:
“The Court has failed to protect women by allowing Planned Parenthood to offer abortions without sufficient medical follow up or oversight. In efforts to monetize women who seek abortions, Planned Parenthood has chosen an unsafe method where a woman cannot be adequately cared for and the Court has sided with a corporation that puts mothers in harm’s way just to increase their bottom line. The abortion industry’s argument that they want to make abortion safe, legal and rare falls flat when they advocate for allowing women to have an abortion without medical care in order to make more money.”
