In news that broke on Thanksgiving, of all days, Operation Rescue reported that late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart is no longer committing abortions at his late-term abortion facility in Maryland:
“According to local sources, Carhart’s last abortions in Maryland took place during the week of October 30, 2016. He returned to GRHS on November 8, but stayed only a few hours, sending several very late-term patients home without abortions. He left later in the afternoon and never returned.”
This is huge news and we are so grateful!
His late-term abortion facility is run out of Germantown, Maryland and it was under his care that Jennifer Morbelli, a 29-year-old teacher, died after a third trimester abortion in 2013. Ambulances have been called to his facility multiple times as well since he opened the facility in 2010.
Earlier this year, Michele Hendrickson, SFLA’s Capital Area Regional Director, attended a rare public lecture from Dr. Carhart at Johns Hopkins University. Carhart revealed he committed anywhere from 80-100K during his practice as an abortionist. Michele’s post about the talk is here.
Carhart is facing serious inquiries for botched abortions and the possible selling of baby body parts, as well as violating the Born Alive law:
“Earlier this year, a Federal lawsuit was filed against Carhart for a seriously botched late-term abortion that came close to costing the life of another one of his patients. He also faced the scrutiny of the House Select Panel on Infant Lives, which issued subpoenas to him and GRHS for documents related to the suspected trafficking of aborted baby remains and the deaths of babies who may have been born alive during abortions at the Germantown facility.”
Unfortunately, Carhart is still committing abortions in Nebraska.
