Illinois Should Keep Parental Notification Laws In Place

  A February 7 editorial by the Chicago Sun Times Editorial Board argues that Parental Notification endangers minor women in abusive homes. It is a true and sad reality that some pregnant minors come from difficult and abusive homes. But using the struggles of these young women to argue for abortions without parental notification is irresponsible and uninformed. The reality is that Parental Notification is a safety protection for minor women. Here’s what will be covered… 

SESSION 1 on Tuesday, May 19th 
Why and How to Start a Students for Life Group – This training will explain all the basics of what a Students for Life Group can do on campus and why the work of student groups is so uniquely important.  You’ll review the “Five Pillars of Pro-Life Engagement” and logistics you’ll need to know for starting a group in the fall semester.

SESSION 2 on Tuesday, May 26th 
Knowing Your Rights on Campus – It is not uncommon for new Students for Life groups to encounter administrators who try to censor their message.  Join experts in the field on this training to learn the warning signs of when your free speech rights may be in danger and what you can do about it.

SESSION 3 on Tuesday,June 2nd 
Tips for Running an Effective Students for Life Group – Not every Students for Life group will be the same, but there are some fundamentals of leading a successful group that never change.  Hear from current Students for Life leaders and our amazing Regional Coordinators about how to make sure your Students for Life group is the BEST organization on campus.

If you cannot make the time we are offering the lesson in your region, don’t worry – you can join another region’s lesson time on the same day. Simply reply back to the confirmation email you receive to ask about attending your lesson at a different time.
