WASHINGTON D.C. & CITIES NATIONWIDE (01-29-2021) As memorials for the anniversary of Roe took place across the country, from the Washington D.C. area, Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins made the following statement: “This year’s remembrance of the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and the many millions of lives lost takes place in a very different Washington D.C. It’s more army camp than the seat of democracy with a very scaled down event that serves as a good reminder that the heart of this nation isn’t just in the Capitol. Many pro-life people are standing for life in their communities all across the country, and the momentum for protecting life in law is coming from the people, in their home states demanding that we not forget mothers and their children, born and preborn. Roe v. Wade hurts all of us, taking precious people away from the American family and leaving hurting women behind. We can do better.
“Students for Life, with our more than 1,250 groups in all 50 states, knows well that the Pro-Life Generation wants to get to work, saving lives and helping families. But what is fascinating is that this week, SFLA’s Institute for Pro-Life Advancement found that Millennials and Gen Z, the generations most targeted for abortions, want less abortion, support reversing Roe v. Wade (that will send the issue of abortion to the states for consideration) and don’t want to pay for it with their tax dollars. Those are shocking statistic if you only listen to the national media instead of to ordinary people across the country.
“Students for Life and Students for Life Action will continue to build on the growing pro-life majorities in all 50 states and invites politicians from both parties to join the Pro-Life Generation.
