Yet Another Abusive Man Slips Pregnant Girlfriend Abortion Pills without Consent

In Japan, an investigation is underway after 21-year-old Jin Mimae allegedly snuck his 18-year-old girlfriend two separate doses of Mifepristone, the first of the two-drug chemical abortion regimen. This drug kills the preborn child by blocking progesterone, a necessary pregnancy hormone. The child’s mother was about 5 weeks along and, unsurprisingly, became sick after being unknowingly drugged. The abortion attempt succeeded in October 2020. Tokyo Reporter wrote: Upon his arrest on suspicion of attempted abortion without consent on February 22, Mimae admitted to the allegations. “I didn’t want to marry her,” the suspect was quoted by police. “Because of

Speaking at Churches

Does your group need money for events, marches, conferences, etc., but don’t have enough time to host a big fundraising event? If you answered, “Yes!”, then speaking at churches is the fundraising event for you! It doesn’t take very long to plan, and you get wonderful results- not to mention huge support from your community!

SFLA resources to request from your Regional Coordinator:

  • “Join Us” topic cards.
  • Sign-up sheets.
  • A “Fundraising” training with your Regional Coordinator.

Steps:

  1. Request a “Fundraising” training from your Regional Coordinator.
  2. Contact your local churches. Start with the ones that your group members already attend, then Google other local churches to find their contact information. Call or email each church, explain who you are and what your club does on campus, and that you are interested in their support for your club. Share details about an event that you need help with, and ask if they will allow for your club to talk after the service or have a table at the back of the church. Or, talk to your pastor/priest about sharing details of an event after the weekly church service/mass.
  3. Determine the best Sunday to speak or table.
  4. Write a quick speech that explains your clubs mission on campus, a success story from the school year, your upcoming plans, and ask for their support. PRACTICE your speech! If you need help with writing it, contact your Regional Coordinator for help!
  5. Gather everything you need for an information table. This includes: topic cards, sign-up sheets, tablecloth, club banner, club information, pictures of your club doing events on campus, and a collection basket for donations.
  6. Today is the day!
  • Arrive early! Talk to the pastor/priest about logistics.
  • Set up the table.
  • If possible, have one member stand by the doors before/after the church service with a donation basket, and keep one member at the table.
  • When someone donates, obtain their contact information on the sign-up sheets. Send a thank you card and update them about your club events.
  • After the weekend, thank the church personally and send a thank you card for the congregation.
  • Keep the church updated with your events. Send them pictures of your group on campus.
